‘Revolte gegen den Urbizid’ (‘Urbicide Rebellion’) is a review published in Bauwelt 8.2021 of Valencia’s L’Escorxador del Cabanyal, a former slaughterhouse that was transformed into a people’s archive and cultural institute by architects Francisco Herrero, David Estal, and Boris Strzelczyk after the activist group Salvem el Cabanyal saved it –together with a large part of the Cabanyal neighborhood– from demolition and toppled an urban plan to extend a monumental avenue through this traditional maritime village. Article can be read online at Criticalista as well as at Bauwelt (German translation by Sigrid Ehrmann).
